Is your hard wired Smoke Detector still working?

You never turn a Smoke detector off. It is truly working 24/7 , 365/366 days a year. Smoke detectors, even those that are hard wired in your home, will wear out. The number of years they last will vary depending on where you're getting your info. Most hard wired smoke detectors have a replace me date printed in them when you buy them. I'll say that most hard wired Smoke Detector are good for 10 to 12 years. 

The reason I am writing this is because my hard wired smoke detector stated "replace me" in 2003. I found that out on 8/5/2015. My hard wired smoke detector started beeping for no reason every other minute on Tuesday night 8/4/2015. I took it down and decided to deal with it in the morning. {Please do not follow my example on that part.} Your smoke detector is there to protect you. Make sure it is up to date and working always.

Most places of business that sale smoke detectors also sale hard wired smoke detectors. (for a reason) That last little bit is for me. I hope you can learn from my mistakes.
