What Home Buyers Should Know...
Have you looked at more than twenty homes and still can’t
find what you’re looking for?
You would be surprised how often as a Realtor I run into
this common problem. The root of the
problem may seem ridiculous but the fact is that when you have seen several
homes and none seem to hit the mark, you may not know exactly what it is you
are looking for!
The solution to this dilemma is simple. The most effective
way I have found to resolve this is to have all of the ‘home buying decision
makers’ sit down separately and write at least 10 things in a home that are
important to them. Some examples are
perhaps location, price, number of bedrooms, brick vs stone, garage, basement, open floor plan,
etc.
After all the decision makers have completed their lists,
exchange lists and discuss what all parties have written. Now, you will need to come up with six things
that your new home must have. The list you come up with at this point is your "Must Have List" Avoid
including any home on your earlier list of homes to see that does not fit the 'Must Have List'.
Following this simple plan can help you find the home of
your dreams faster and eliminate unnecessary stress when trying to find your
new home!
