Hello Everyone! As you may already know, When you own a home you have different systems and appliances that need to be checked, changed, or replaced sometimes as often as once a month. Some of these same systems need to be serviced by a professional on a yearly or bi-yearly visit. I would like to take these few lines and get you to think about some simple things that may save you hundreds of dollars down the road.
1st up your H.V.A.C. = Heating , Ventilation and Air Conditioning system. The best thing you can do to keep this running smoothly is to change the filters once a month. If the air flows freely through your H.V.A.C., it might not have to work as hard which could cut your monthly utility bills and will save you on repairs / replacement cost. You can send yourself an electronic reminder from your internet calender.
2nd The Dryer Vent. For less than $50 bucks you can change this out and hopefully not ever lose sleep on whether it will cause a fire or not. Some people own a home for years and never think to change that vent at least every 2 years. How long have you owned your home? Have you replaced the Dryer Vent? Do it today. Please.
3rd Your Appliances have filters that need to be changed and can prolong the life of these appliances. Check your manual to see if it has a filter... some do not. The manual will tell you where it is located and how often to change it. That little expense could save you hundreds of dollars.
